High School: Played four years at DeSoto High School for coach Dave Guemer… two-time first team all-state selection… compiled a four-year pitching record of 58-8 with a 0.75 earned run average… pitched a total of 420 innings and struck out 556 batters… also a three-time first team all-district and four-time first team all-conference honoree… named Jefferson County Athletic Association MVP as a senior… pitched DeSoto to three conference and district championships and a third place finish in Missouri Class 3 as a junior… owns every school career pitching record and set single season records as a senior for innings pitched (157.3), wins (22), strikeouts (245) and ERA (0.58)… hit .430 as a senior, the fifth-best single season average, while recording a single season fourth-best 37 hits.
